URGENT NEEDS
We provide medical care to all cats we rescue. Life threatening and emergency cases receive medical treatment immediately, whether we have the money or not (somehow it always comes). But often we have several cats that are in NEED of medical care for conditions that are urgent, but not life threatening, that we simply do not have the money to pay for. These cats unfortunately must wait for treatment until we can cover the vet bills. We will post those cases on this website, hoping that some kind-hearted cat loving persons will make donations to help cover the cost of their much needed medical care. Once treated these cats will have a better chance of being adopted into loving homes.

Because we put all of our money into providing food, medical care and shelter for our cats, we often find ourselves in NEED of other miscellaneous items required to maintain their shelter. We will post a list of needed items on the CONTACT US section of this website. Donations of USED items are encouraged.

If you can help, please go to the CONTACT US page for instructions on how to make a donation. Be sure to specify where you want your donation directed. Thank you!

SAMPSON JR.

Condition: Painful knee joint slips in and out of place (must be kept caged to limit his movement)

Medical Treatment Required and approx cost:
Surgery $200-$250

My Story:
I came to the shelter as a kitten, when my owners gave me up because their older dog didn’t like me. I don’t know why he couldn’t get along with me as I am young, playful, love people and have even been told I’m dog-like in that I truly love human companionship! I really want to have someone adopt me, but I have this painful medical condition where my knee slips out of place, and no one will want me until I am all better. They have to keep me in this cage so I don’t move around too much and cause more damage to my knee. I’ve been in this cage for over 2 months. My best friend, who slept beside my cage to keep me company, has been adopted, so now I am very lonely in this cage. I really want to get out and play with the other cats. If you can help me I would truly be grateful!

RTL Equipment has made a donation to fix Sampson Jr.'s leg! They donated $150 plus some extra we used towards a huge cat litter order. Thank - you, RTL Equipment for your generous donation!!

Sampson has had his surgery due to generous donations and Dr. Reimer's incredible surgical skills

HUNTER

CONDITION: Broken teeth in need of repair/removal

Medical Treatment Required: Extensive Dental exam, X-rays, Treatment and Multiple Tooth Extraction. Sealing of those teeth that can be saved.

Approx cost: $400-$450

I was a homeless cat that no one cared about for many years. I lived off grasshoppers and other bugs I could find. Then one day a nice lady from Soaring With 2nd Chances started leaving food and water outside for me. It was a very good thing as I was starving and would not have made it through the approaching winter. At first I was afraid she would hurt me like other humans had, but eventually I learned to trust her and one day I let her get close enough to catch me and take me into this nice warm, safe shelter. It is painful for me to eat because of my broken teeth, and some are very serious and may lead to other problems that I don’t even want to think about. As you can see I am very cute and adoptable, but no one wants to take me home until my teeth are fixed. If you can help, I will love you forever!
